Enjoy St Patrick’s Day celebrations at the Guinness Storehouse
St Patrick’s Day will be full of music, good food and plenty of fine drink at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin this year, and to celebrate the Storehouse’s 10th birthday a very special promotion is being run. Anyone who is fortunate enough to share the name of Ireland’s Patron Saint – or a variation of it – will be offered a pass to get into the March 17th St Patrick’s festivities for free.
Official identification, such as a passport or driver’s license, must be presented by any Patricks going along on the day so that they can enjoy the full range of attractions on offer at no charge. On arrival to Guinness Storehouse, Patricks and all other visitors will be greeted by fire jugglers and street performers, who will create a visual sensation to the backdrop of the stunning seven storey Storehouse building. Once inside, Arthur & Olivia Guinness characters will be on hand to welcome visitors as they begin their celebrations.
“Rattle and Hum” will take centre stage on the day and perform some of Ireland’s favourite U2 tunes. Meanwhile, Irish guitarist Jimmy Smyth will also perform, as will Sliotar and The Gravel Walk. Gravity Bar will be playing funky lounge tunes as DJs Peter Cosgrove and Peter McKenna take to the decks. Or for a more traditional experience, an interactive Céilí Mór will take place during the day.
In addition to the St Patrick’s Day live music acts, visitors can also learn how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness like a true connoisseur and have the chance to take home a hand drawn caricature of themselves enjoying their perfect pint! Added to this, there will complimentary tastings of two Guinness variants – Foreign Extra Stout and Extra Stout. A selection of delicious Guinness inspired cuisine, meanwhile, will be available in the Brewery Bar Restaurant. With so much on offer, Patricks and non Patricks alike are guaranteed to be entertained this St Patrick’s Day at the Guinness Storehouse.
