Camping in California is a blast. California is known for its famous state and national parks. The local attractions have tourists keep coming back. The weather is beautiful all year round. Camping in CA will be an experience to remember. The list of fun filled activities is unending.
For the active individual, many of the campgrounds offer activities for all ages. You can go hiking, swimming, fishing, etc. Bring your family and friends and have an experience of a life time. If you just want to relax, enjoying the tranquility while relaxing can be joyous. California is known for its scenic beauty. Enjoy the weather and surroundings. Some of the most famous beaches are in California. Where ever you are at in California, the Pacific Ocean is never far away.
California is well-known for its diversity, in so many aspects. And that very well applies to the camping sites too. Enjoy camping at a destination of your choice. You can go camping at the beaches, the mountains, state or national parks, deserts, lakes, country, the city, etc.
In northern California, you can also enjoy the famous Golden Gate Park, the Napa Vineyards, and more. Southern California is warm and sunny almost all year round. In the middle of November, don’t be too shocked at people wearing flip flops or going surfing.
However, southern California makes up for it with awesome winter weathers. Cool climates while still being sunny is what you will find during the winter months. Campers can still enjoy many of the outdoor activities in the wintertime. Where else can you go horse-back riding without literally freezing your behind off? If you want go swimming, try the desert area (Palm Springs). They have unbelievable heated pools and jacuzzis that make you not want to get out.
The summer weather in southern California can reach triple digits. If you do not like scorching hot weather, take a trip up north where it is still sunny yet cool. Even sleeping in the tent and really roughing it won’t be a bad idea because most places will be so gorgeous.
Renting an RV and finding a park is what most people tend to do when camping. The art of camping in modern times makes it more comfortable. Some people like to do it the old fashioned way and rough it. It seems nobody ever sleeps in tents anymore. We’ve become too spoiled.
Camping is one of the past times for many families and friends. This allows people to get together. The big task of each day is cooking the camping food though. Here are some of the things that we always looked forward to.
The first thing when it comes to camp food that you have to have is beans. All you need is a little pot to cook them on. Just open the can and warm them up. Then you have dinner. It’s really that simple.
Something we loved to have also while we camped was popcorn. You listen to ghost stories and as you are entranced by the story teller you are eating popcorn that was popped in aluminum foil. It’s also nice in having the pokers that you can place things like hotdogs and marshmallows on to roast are beneficial as well. Make sure that they extend so that you aren’t burning yourself.
Of course you can do grilled corn on the cob. Again, wrap it in foil paper and you can have the best corn on the cob for camping food. Add a few ingredients. You’ll love it. It is so sweet and juicy and all you need is a campfire and then some foil and something for you to hold it over the fire. Not bad eh?
Trail mix is something else that we love to have as a snack when you do a full blown camping event. The reason this is so great is all you need to do is add a few ingredients, put them in a plastic bag, and you are good to go. This is great when you are hiking as it’s packaged and you can pull it out at any time.
Last, but not least, you need to bring pots and pans. Now, you can’t put this over the campfire, but they do have portable stoves that you can get. This will allow you to boil water easily and more. So if you are looking to improve your camping experience and have great camping food this is how.
Get with the program. Sure camping is supposed to be old fashioned, but who says you can’t get cool cooking toys? Give them the meals they deserve and you could have a grand old time. Here’s to camping food and the stuff you love to make!
