Florida is one of the top places to visit across the United States, if not the number one holiday hot spot. Orlando is in Florida, and holds the worlds biggest Amusement parks, attracting many tourists. Florida receives more visitors a year than the whole of the United Kingdom and with so many attractions there is no wonder why. The largest theme park in the world is in Florida – Disney World, but there are more. Universal Studios and Disney World are the two biggest here, with at least four more large ones as well!

What else is there in a smaller market that brings people to Florida. There is a lot to see in Florida, but did you know that it is also home to a place where wine is made from Oranges. Any fruit that wields the joys of sugar can be transformed into a wine or liquor.

When the Spanish made it to America, it became clear that shipping over wine from Spain could be hard, so they needed to grow their own. It is universally recognised that Grapes are the traditional way to make wine, and probably the best. Even thought the atmosphere and the climate were perfect for growing the grapes, the soil was uninhabitable for them. In order for the grapes to flourish they needed the appropriate minerals in the soil, which wasn’t available here. Although relatively strong fruits, they couldn’t survive here. Hardier stuff was needed to keep order amongst soldiers and obviously to keep some taste flowing through the ranks.

The best option was then the Orange, a sturdy fruit that is easy to grow and perfect in hot weather conditions. These fruits can survive in much harsher climates, and they were perfect here. There are orange grove wineries in Florida and are great for you to visit on your Florida holidays. USA holidays haven’t exactly blossomed because of the Orange wines, but they should be visited, maybe even if you are on a Fly Drive USA tour!

The nickname Sunshine State was given to Florida for a reason. Even with hot, steamy Summers, there are twelve months of terrific RV camping in Florida. With over 150 RV parks and many more spots that on the beach, Florida offers folks that like to be in the outdoors many things to do.

Regardless of what you like to do, a Florida vacation has it. Golf, beaches, parks, museums, water parks, amusement parks, fishing and more, the area offers daily, weekly and monthly hook ups for the RV fan. There is fishing, world class golf, boating on either the Atlantic Ocean or in the Florida Gulf. You will find some of the best snorkeling in the world, 6 of the top 20 beaches in the country and depending on your location, some of the best sunsets that you will ever experience.

Most of the top locations are managed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection agency, so you will also have bird estuaries, and protected animals that are only common to this area. Here are just a few of the best locations:

A. The Florida Keys are only 90 miles from Cuba. This most southern tip of the United States has some of the best views available anywhere. Located just 12 miles from Marathon, FL, you will find Bahia Honda. This resort gives you access to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Florida Gulf. Fishing and boating are outstanding, as is the snorkeling throughout the Keys. Pets are welcome, but the spots sell out early, so book as soon as you know where you are headed.

B. Also in the Florida Keys is another terrific spot named: Curry Hammock State Park. This location is always sold out during the Winter months, but you can get on a cancellation list to get you into this site. This resort gets over a large percentage of reoccurring visitors. They offer fishing, cookouts, grills, snorkeling and with a protected environment, you will see Flora and Fauna that is only common in Florida.

C. Named after famous folk singer Gamble Rogers, this northern Florida destinations offers an abundance of fun to do. Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterways, in Flagler County, you will find great snorkeling, deep sea fishing, boating and picnics on the beach, the most common activities. As the temperatures cool, you can watch mother sea turtles lay and hide her eggs for their long nurturing growth and hatch. A different site will offer you many more choices of shells as they lay there waiting for you to take home as a memory of your trip.

D. About 50 miles west of Jacksonville, off of the water, you will find a true gem of a location. The Gold Head Branch Resort is situated on Little Lake Johnson. Here you will find Bald Eagles, Fox squirrels, the occasional Fox and more animals indigenous to Florida. If you like to golf, there are over 30 courses within a hour of this location and should offer you a nice day trip to the links. If you can plan a late fall visit, you will see the wildflowers in bloom and it will be a delight and highlight of your trip.

Florida is and always will be the number 1 vacation destination. From all of these locales, a day trip to a theme park or to shop will only enhance the vacation experience. Florida is truly the Sunshine State and by visiting there in your RV you will have the chance to take in all that this beautiful state has to offer. If these areas are not where you were planning to stay, check around and you will find that there are many great options for you and your family.

Did you know that Disney World offers fully functional campgrounds for you, your children,  and even the family dog? If you want to go camping, the Fort Wilderness Resort at Disney World in Florida might be the perfect vacation spot for you.  All campsites include electricity and water, and for an extra fee you can even get high-speed Internet access.

Despite these detractions from the pure camping experience, Disney Fort Wilderness Resort is well worth the money they charge for you to camp there. The campsite is set upon some truly beautiful land: a forest full of pine trees, water canals, and hiking trails that look like the real thing. There are even deer, rabbits, and ducks wandering around the campgrounds.

There are hook-ups for tents and RV’s, and log-cabin style buildings dot the premises.  Camping at Disney World has several advantages. First of all, it is completely safe. You won’t encounter bears or other wild animals in the middle of the night, nor will you run into strangers living in the woods for nefarious purposes. So the kids will get the camping experience they desire while you have peace of mind. It also has modern conveniences, so you will not have to find places to use the bathroom or use tree leaves as toilet paper.

Finally, the outdoor atmosphere at Disney is beautiful. The campsites are situated in a forest full of pine and cypress trees and there are log cabins or other rustic-looking buildings on site. Best of all, camping at Disney World is not expensive; you can rent your campsite for as little as $43 per night plus tax.  Of course, take warning to avoid shock: Florida will soak you on the taxes.

Camping activities include hiking, exploring, fishing, and swimming, but if you tire of these, there is still plenty to do. Fort Wilderness offers horse and wagon rides and archery ranges in addition to traditional camping activities, and every evening a Disney movie is screened on the campsite.  However, if you get tired of camping, Disney offers complimentary transportation for resort guests to  each of its theme parks.

As a Disney World Resort guest, you are also entitled to complimentary transportation to and from all Disney Theme Park locations. In addition to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot Center, you and your children could visit the Animal Kingdom or any of the Disney World Water Parks.  You can also visit two golf courses and other Disney World Resort Hotels.

If you have a dog, you can bring him or her to selected areas of the campsite. Your dog will enjoy walking through the campgrounds and will have an air-conditioned place to sleep. Cats are presumably also welcome on the campsite, although most cats are not leash trained so this may not be a good idea.

In short, if you are looking for a camping experience to complement your vacation, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort may be the place for you and your family.
