The very name “Ibiza” conjures images of a hedonist’s paradise – the ultimate party island. While this is certainly still true, holidays in Ibiza are also a great chance to relax and unwind a little. In fact, the White Isle is a great holiday destination for families and young people.
Ibiza is one of Spain’s Balearic Islands, located in the Mediterranean Sea, affording it a beautifully warm climate from April until October each year. To celebrate this, one of the island’s main nightclubs, Space, holds its opening party at the begninning of June each year. If you visit Ibiza outside of these times and you will find that the weather is a little more unpredictable. It is for this reason many of the bars, hotels and nightclubs are shut outside of these months, although there are still that remain open.
Explore the quaint old streets of the island’s capital, Ibiza Town, during the day, stopping every now and then for a glass of sangria in one of the fantastic bars. The sandy shores and clear, blue waters of Es Cana are a beach lover’s Mecca and the perfect spot to unwind. When night falls, there’s only really one thing to do on an Ibiza holiday, and that’s partying hard at one of the legendary nightclubs – most of which stay open until 6am.at the earliest. Sunrise on the beach also creates a real buzz each morning.
In order to attract more diverse groups of people to an Ibiza holiday there are more and more 5 star hotels being opened on the island. This is to raise the expectations of strangers to Ibiza, as many believe the island’s only accommodation to come in the form of cheap hotels or apartments. So if it’s a little luxury you’re looking for, you’ll certainly find it in one of the newer Ibiza hotels.
